University of Tokyo – AIKOM Scholarship
The AIKOM program is open to those who will be third or fourth year undergraduates in good standing at Universitas Gadjah Mada at the time when the Program begins. Since the basic AIKOM Program is offered in English, non-native speakers should have sufficient English ability. A TOEFL score of at least 550 on the paper based test (213 CBT, 80 IBT) is preferred. Applicants should note that no courses are available in scientific or technical fields. While knowledge of the Japanese language or a major dealing with Japan are not required, students who have demonstrated a strong interest in Japan are preferable.
Required Documents
- Application for Short-Term Study Abroad Program;
- Certificate of Enrollment of the applicant for SISF Scholarship;
- Statement of purpose to be submitted to SISF (in about 400 letters size A4)
- Official transcript (English Version);
- Pledge;
- Two letters of recommendation from faculty members;
- Certificate of English ability (TOEFL or IELTS) for non-native speaker of English
- Letter of nomination (surat pencalonan dari Dekan ditujukan ke Kepala Kantor Urusan Internasional)
- In addition, some example of candidate’s academic work (an essay, etc.) would be helpful, though not compulsory
